Subjects in control group, the peak plasma creatine kinase activity was observed at 1 d after the race, and correlated with post-race WBC. The post-race elevation of CK activity was suppressed by WGH intake in a dose-dependent manner. In well-trained distance runners, after a half-marathon, delayed-onset muscle injury peaked at 1 d after the race and was suppressed by post-race intake of WGH in a dose-dependent manner.
